In The Garden

62We’ve been harvesting cucumbers for a few days now, which means I need to break out the canning jars and start making pickles!  I never start enough cucumber plants to satisfy my family’s dill pickle habit.  I wish I’d started twice as many this year.

Ooh, that looks so good already! One year we grew cucumbers and I didn’t get the change to make pickles out of those… The kids loved to pick it and eat it, haha!

What herbs do you use to pickle them?

Thanks, Wendie! I use a mixed pickling spice to make the brine then add in a clove of garlic, a really hot pepper, some dill and mustard seeds. You’ll find my recipe on Craftster. 🙂
