Houdini the rooster and Augusta the sheep share breakfast together. It’s actually sheep and goat grain, but contains lots of corn. Gus could easily toss her head to get rid of the chicken but seems perfectly content to share. That’s a good girl, Gus!

Is corn a normal food for chickens besides bugs and stuff?

Yes it is. We buy something called scratch on occasion and it’s basically cracked corn kernels. One of their favorite treats is an ear of corn on the cob. They got leftover cornbread yesterday and were in heaven! We feed them our fruit, veggie and bread kitchen scraps as well as chicken pellets from the feed store.
