We’ve had 3 inches of snow in the past 2 hours this morning. Jack’s been playing in the snow, the lambs are frolicking, there’s a path out to the hot tub and a batch of jalapeno corn bread in the oven to go with the big pot of chili I made yesterday. Bring it on!

The pond is iced over and we’re bracing for a big snow. We have a winter storm warning starting tonight thru the next 3 days. Should be interesting. I made a huge pot of chili today and the champagne is chilling. I think we’re all set.

These little guys are twins and were born yesterday. They’re both healthy and well taken care of by their mama. A great start!
Christmas Is Over

We took our fresh Christmas tree down and delivered it to the goats. They will have it stripped in no time then the remnants will go into the pond as fish habitat. Happy New Year!

It’s time to put out hay since the pasture has gone dormant for the winter. The goats are in the barn because they are super annoying around a fresh bale of hay and the tractor is dangerous for them. The sheep are in their feeding pen waiting to be let out and Jack’s just waiting on them.

This hawk has taken up residence down by our wintry garden. He’s very watchful and quite large. That’s our replacement willow tree right behind him. It’s not yet started to weep, which makes it just look like any old tree. Maybe next year.
Fetch

Lizzie likes to play fetch. No matter what stick I throw her, she brings this tree limb back. It usually takes her a while to get it to me. It’s her favorite.

Thanksgiving is almost here! I spent a good while in my kitchen today roasting vegetables. Tomorrow I’m making pies, assembling the stuffing and brining the turkey. Tomorrow’s dinner is pizza. 🙂

There was nothing better to grab at breakfast than some of the incredible fresh Mediterranean fruits and a slice of salty cured meat.

Surf and turf from the ‘reservations only but no additional charge’ specialty restaurant on board. We ate there three times.

Chateaubriand with bernaise sauce so tender you didn’t even need a knife to cut it. Best I’ve ever had.
One last post from our vacation. Now that we’re home and watching what we eat it’s nice to recall what all we got to eat on our big adventure. We can’t wait to go back!
