Here are the plants we started from saved seeds in January. They will eventually end up on our back deck. We have two other sizes from later plantings. The next size down comes with me to the farmer’s market to sell as starter plants, and our small ones will be planted out in our raised beds once it’s safe to do so. We’ve been hand pollinating the flowers every morning and already have some tiny tomatoes. Once again, we should be the first vendor with tomatoes at the market.

I’m in the midst of a cleanse diet and yesterday was tomato day. After 7 or 8 tomatoes, I thought I’d never want to eat another again. But seeing your lovely plants and imagining how special those tomatoes must taste, I think I could make an exception.

They are pretty tasty! We’re about 6 weeks away from being able to enjoy them.

I just picked out first tomato this morning. Hopefully, we’ll have more than last year. We planted a lot earlier – good thing since it’s already in the high 80’s.
