But not for long. The lambs occasionally fall asleep in the sun while mom is grazing. As soon as they wake up and call for their mama, she comes trotting back for a joyful reunion. All of the ewes recognize their own lambs’ voices. And yes, they are as soft as they look.

Every time I’m in the pasture, I tote one around. We like our animals to be social with people so spend time with them. I’ve got a group of friends coming for a needlefelting workshop tomorrow. Almost everyone, including the instructor, is coming early to play with the lambs. 🙂
