Jack flies by on his way to round up our sheep during training. Watching him accelerate is amazing. He enjoys working very much. Every border collie should have a few sheep to boss around!
Why We Have No Fruit

Deer in our orchard. A mom and two fawns, there are lots more running around here. Our fishing line fence keeps them out of our garden, we may need to expand it up the hill. At least they’re cute…
Second Honey Harvest

Our bees have been busy! We just harvested 150 pounds of honey exactly one month after our first harvest. It took us 9 hours, I’m still tired… It’s a good thing because we are sold out of our first batch. At this rate, we may get another harvest yet this summer. We think this batch tastes even better than the last. Our sourwood trees haven’t had much bloom this year so it doesn’t have the distinctive sour taste that lots of folks are looking for. That’s OK by us, we’re harvesting what we enjoy!

Just sharing some of my treasures. I’m responsible for none of these, they’ve been sent to me over the years in Craftster swaps by some really talented artists. That’s Jenna at #13, Beatrice at #18 and Bindi at #19. Those cubbies are 5″ by 5″, to give you some size perspective. How lucky am I?
Learning To Play

We got Jack a few toys, including his very own wubba. He made us chase it for him the first few days. I think he found the squeaker inside a bit disconcerting. Now he gets very excited when we get it out and toss it for him. Yesterday, he retrieved it twice then on the third toss, he took off with it and delivered it about a quarter mile to our neighbor’s house. I guess he thought they might enjoy seeing his new toy. Baby steps…
Big Girl

One of Hermione’s triplets, Nymeria, is going to a new home today. She’ll have a great pyrenees to watch over her and other goats to hang with. I’ll miss her sweet face in our pasture. She’s a beauty.
