I kind of fell in love with Portugal. We did a walking food tour in Lisbon that lasted almost seven hours (more walking than sampling!). The blue and white porcelain tiles on the buildings were charming. I ducked into a craft shop during our tour to buy some little round tiles and made a little shadowbox as a reminder.
A Culinary Journey

Our vacation to the Mediterranean included a lot of culinary focus. We went shopping with a few chefs, wandered around markets and sampled the local offerings.

We bought butter and ham baguette sandwiches more than once. Brought this one back onboard for our lunch
Home Again

Been off enjoying the world again. This time sailing between Dublin and St Maarten via a lovely time in the Mediterranean. I last spent time in Paris when I was 15 years old and Brian has never been. One of our first stops was the Louvre where we spent the entire day. The line to see the Mona Lisa was hours long so we skipped it but enjoyed everything else. The ceilings were magnificent!

I had a lot of fun thinking up things to include in a little display dedicated to a student of unsolved mysteries. Check out all the details at http://gslcuts.blogspot.com/2019/09/unsolved-mysteries-display-cabinet.html

If you are a fan of the Great British Bake Off, you will recognize this work station I crafted in miniature. It’s made from a 1:12 scale bookshelf, details can be found at http://gslcuts.blogspot.com/2019/07/the-great-british-bake-off-in-miniature.html
Cherries

We are fortunate enough to live about an hour from a cherry orchard. Then again, we’re an hour from decent groceries, a Home Depot, movie theater, Thai restaurant and a whole lot of other things but I digress… We go as close to sour cherry picking opening day as possible and missed it by two days this year so the pickings were pretty difficult. Luckily there were two of us so we got a decent haul. The vast majority of them went into homemade cocktail cherries. I killed two bottles of Luxardo maraschino liqueur in the process. Since they are canned, they will last us a few years. Cheers!
Tea Keeper Cottage

I do love to relax with a cup of tea in the afternoon and always keep a box of tea bags on my kitchen counter.
When I saw the GSL Mini House Front Box http://www.gslcuts.com/Store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=3&products_id=1339 I knew I could make something a lot cuter to hold them.
The little open top house comes in five pieces, easily assembled using tacky glue. If you are inspired by this piece to make your own, you can find a tutorial at http://gslcuts.blogspot.com/2019/06/tea-keeper-cottage.html
Miniature Party Bar

I made a miniature version of our potting bench party bar for Gypsy Soul. It stands about 6 inches tall. For more in-process steps, please visit http://gslcuts.blogspot.com/2019/05/miniature-cocktail-bar.html

The bench is made of chipboard. It ships flat and is super easy to assemble using a little bit of craft glue.

Loved working on all of the little bits for the top shelf! I even made a miniature version of my favorite cocktail recipe book, Death & Company.
