We lost Nugget. We moved her from the hen barn to the big barn back in February when our rooster just about pecked her to death. He is an ex rooster. We tended her wounds and tried to reintroduce her back to the flock when she had healed but they started pecking her so she’s been a lone chicken for the past 6 months in the company of sheep and goats. I know Milos and FiFi weren’t responsible because they watched over her on the occasions that she wandered away from the barn. We always say our cat Bindi and Nugget are the only pets on our farm, everyone else has a job. She’ll be missed.
A Shame

Poor sweetheart. I know these things happen, but it still brings tears to my eyes. I’m such a baby… My thoughts are with you.:) Jennifer

Thanks so much, Jennifer. I know she’s just a chicken but she was a dear little thing.

I’m so sorry, Connie. I know you loved that gutsy little chicken.
I must be a baby, too….I’m a bit weepy for her. Poor little Nugget.

Oh no! Nugget was the best little chicken ever! 😦 I’ll miss the pictures of her and her beautiful feathers.

Always sad to lose one of the herd. Our thoughts are with your little Nugget in the great meadow in the sky, where no one gets pecked on, and feathers are full and lush.
